If you follow the financial news and I am guessing more and more people are these days you might have noticed something quite disturbing this morning.

Three major oil companies have posted their third quarter results and the numbers are staggering. First off Exxon mobile the world’s largest company posted profits of 14.8 Billion dollars. That’s 14.8 Billion with a B and this is profit not gross revenue and this is 1 quarter of a calendar year. That’s 14 thousand 800 millions, I always find it amazing when you break any large number down like this.

The debate is worldwide, the subject is profusely discussed and very intense around the world . The most obvious thing that can be said about global warming is that the earth is getting warmer. Specifically, the temperatures near the surface of the earth and the temperatures in the ocean are rising. Since 1990, there have been 10 years that have been hotter than any others in recorded history.

East Anglia has a long tradition of farming and horticulture due to its fertile land and it has always provided the local economy with important revenue. Cereals, sugar beet, fruit and vegetables are all grown in the region and form an important part of the local economy. Livestock are also an important part of the fabric of the region. Sheep and cattle are reared across the counties making up the East Anglian region and, of course, Norfolk is well known for its turkeys.

The color green is affiliated with regeneration, fertility and reincarnation for its connections to mother nature. New political radicals have adopted the color as a symbol of environmental protection and social justice, and think as themselves as being a part of the Green movement, some naming themselves as Green parties. This has led to synonymous movements in advertising, as corporations and business have started selling green, or environmentally friendly, merchandise!
